ABOUT US

Founded in 2019, NowExpressions is a non-profit art collective which aims at creating platforms for creative collaborations and inter/multidisciplinary synergies. Realising the numerous points of intersection shared by the various facets of the creative industry, it becomes imperative to create interactive platforms for creative engagements, in a bid to bridge the operational and collaborative gap that exists between these disciplines, thereby fostering interdisciplinary collaborations.

Thus, NowExpressions curates creatively engaging projects and discursive platforms where stakeholders in the different spheres of the industry come together to share ideas and foster positive professional relationships and collaborations. This is achieved through the constant organisation of Artist Talks, Round-table Discussions, Symposia, Conferences, Readings, Performances, Exhibitions as well as Social Engagement Projects, where fundamental issues, trends, ideas and innovations in the industry are collectively considered, and appreciated.

What We Do

Nowexpression Exhibition

Exhibition

NowExpressions work with budding and established contemporary creatives in curating exhibitions to showcase their works to the public. Also, most projects curated by the Collective often culminate in exhibitions. As such, from time to time, NowExpressions presents for public viewing, the visual proceeds from its curated platforms for creative engagements and collaborations such as workshops / symposia, performances, and social engagement projects. 

Workshop/ Symposia

Stakeholders in the creative industry as a whole and its affiliates are often brought together to share ideas and collaborate. Depending on their individual aims, the workshop are often open to artists and non-artists to participate, so as to achieve an inclusive audience representation and participation, as well as to foster inter/multidisciplinary networks.

Artist Talk

As part of the mentorship and idea sharing initiative of NowExpressions, platforms are often created for artists to share stories of their creative journeys and explorations. It is the hope of the Collective that through these shared creative experiences, the creative propensities of young artists will be stimulated, while offering fresh perspectives to established artists as well.

How we see Art as a tool in making impact to this Generation
  • We see art as a tool for integrating social differences, creating awareness and intervening in challenging social issues. So Far, we have reached out to over 1000 participants across academic levels, within and outside academic spaces.

  • This symposium (Art and Its Interdisciplinary Possibilities) was an eye opener and a breath of fresh air. Not often do you see initiatives like this which seeks to bring people together from different disciplines and backgrounds. I look forward to subsequent versions of this!
